Frustrated Writer's FRUSTRATIONS

 Is this our DEMISE?

The rescue team returned from the small town ever so slowly, even slower than when the left the decontamination unit. Their Bio-Hazard suits left tiny clouds of dust drifting behind as their massive boots kicked up dirt. Behind each suit a pair of shallow gouges trailing clear back to the town. Each member examined steps with careful attention apparently trying to avoid damage to their suits. Meticulously they lined up and paced through preliminary shower tent, wisps of steam eased out of the flaps as each entered.
Over an hour later the four men an a woman sat around a folding table as a Marine Major stepped into the debriefing tent. His crisp Uniform gleaming in the fading light. He slammed his trim muscles into a director's type chair. His baritone voice filled the tent.
" Okay folks, what do we have?"
The White jump-suited woman lifted her pale face and with blank stare announced,
" Nothing. No bodies, human, dog, cat not even a flea. Fifteen homes or what seems to have been homes, six stores twelve active out houses but not a single body. The town sheriff's office had a residency record of sorts that listed One hundred and twenty-five adults but no count on children. Just a note with several family names of births. I figured there were over two hundred people in that town when that mayday to the state troopers was cut off. One week ago. We found the two patrol cars, the three Hummers and the Semi Command post, but none of the fourteen trooper sent in to investigate."
The man sitting next to her lifted a pale face and added'
" No sign of the first trooper, the two sent in to find him, the four from the Hummer or the seven man commando unit in the semi with its command post trailer sent in to find everybody else."
The rest of the team didn't even move.
"So what happened!" demanded the Major.
The woman," Absolutely no idea. No tracks, not even of the humans. We found eight outside dog houses, no dogs, tracks, or scat. Every main building had cat boxes, no cats, etcetra. What ever disintigrated the humans left no tracks, scat or body parts. Even bacteria leave something. Ants have hills. We have nothing, not even vehicle tracks leaving. We can't even bomb this place for fear that a bio might be spread by the wind."
"So?"

Isn't that frustrating?
